PULSAR® is taking the industry by storm in its new #BeGreenBeSeen initiative, an environmentally friendly project dedicated to help save the planet through positive corporate social responsibility.
The company's partnership with Avena Environmental ensures that PULSAR® garments are diverted from landfill and recycled properly at the end of their market lives.
At PULSAR®, we're taking a full-circle approach in bringing new products to market, which not only have the safety of the wearer in mind, but the environment too.
Debbie Huntley, PULSAR® Product Development Manager
"It all starts with working with sources that have responsible environmental and social accreditations in place," adds Debbie.
PULSAR®'s business development approach involves using GRS recycled fabrics wherever possible, made from pre and post-consumer plastic and textiles waste.
Forward-Looking Partnerships
The hi-vis experts are supporters of The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), the largest global programme driving the cotton sector towards sustainability.
As administrators of the Better Cotton Standard System, BCI encourages the exchange of good practices and the scaling-up of collective action to establish Better Cotton as a sustainable mainstream commodity.
PULSAR® also collaborates with finishing developers DuPont, who take a sustainable approach to their products and design, with enhanced performance at the forefront of planning.
A Recycling Revolution
This year, PULSAR® hi-vis garments are being packaged in recyclable plastic bags that are made from 100% recycled materials.
Around 10% of the 100 million tonnes of plastic that is used globally every year ends-up in our oceans, and an estimated 300 million plastic bags end-up in the Atlantic Ocean alone. Each of which can take centuries to break down.
"Of course, we understand that it is difficult to bring about solutions individually, but we believe it is vital that companies look after their communities in a responsible manner."
Investing in the Future
As part of PULSAR®'s sustainability journey #BeGreenBeSeen, it has partnered with Forest Carbon to invest in the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve in Borneo, Indonesia. As a result, PULSAR® has successfully offset 765 tonnes of logistics emissions from 2020.
Rimba Raya, dubbed 'The Infinite Forest,' is a carbon-rich biodiversity reserve and is one of the single largest emissions avoidance projects in the entire world.
"PULSAR® is proud to be investing in this project, which will enable us to enrich the lives of the local population, preserve some of the most endangered wildlife in the world, and help reduce carbon emissions."
