This year, we launched our new environmentally responsible collection, PULSAR® Life, embracing a circular approach from the outset. Our focus on research and development has guided us in selecting the most responsible solutions available, such as sustainable fibers and replacing virgin polyester with recycled polyester (RPET). By collaborating with renowned partners like THERMOLITE® and YKK®, and using GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified materials, we ensure traceability throughout the program. During the development process, we conducted wearer trials to understand performance requirements better and explored garment construction methods, ensuring we create the most durable garments to extend their lifespan even further.

3-LAYER TRICOT FABRIC
3 layer fabrics are made with 3 layers of fabric which are laminated together to create a waterproof and breathable fabric which is common in high end waterproof clothing. The waterproof, breathable membrane is sandwiched between an outer face fabric and an inner lining, most commonly a lightweight tricot fabric. Tricot fabric has excellent wrinkle resistance, and offers a superior next-to-skin feel which also helps to provide some texture and protects the membrane.
3-layer constructions are the most durable and offer the highest level of waterproof-breathable performance. Within our PULSAR® Life collection, both our Shell Jacket and Overtrouser is made with GRS 80% recycled polyester wind and waterproof, 3-layer tricot laminate fabric.

INSULATION
Containing a minimum of 35% recycled materials such as plastic bottles, THERMOLITE® T3 EcoMade insulation delivers lofty softness and a higher warmth-to-weight ratio while being extremely lightweight. Combined with good packability and recovery, THERMOLITE® T3 EcoMade insulation sets a new milestone in terms of wearer comfort. A higher level of water resistance and breathability keeps outdoor workers dry and comfortable, even in demanding conditions. In addition, THERMOLITE® T3 EcoMade technology has outstanding wash durability, which translates into longer garment life and lower environmental impact through fewer replacements and less trash. POLO SHIRTS
PULSAR® wanted to design a polo shirt that was not only made out of responsibly sourced materials but also designed to last longer. The PULSAR® Life polo shirts, incorporate a Silvadur anti-bacterial treatment, reducing bad odours within the garment, this helps to reduce the need to wash the garment when not dirty. This has a number of benefits including extending the life even further whilst at the same time, reduces energy, water consumption and detergent usage – helping protect our environment.
We have pushed the life expectancy by using materials and components which can last up to 50 domestic washes, 10 times the requirement of the standard for a pass. This helps promote a longer life span of the garment, which in theory means there is a reduction in demand in garments being manufactured over the period of time, reducing pollution in production and shipping.
Alongside the sustainable elements of these polo shirts and the ability to protect our environment, the polo shirts also include safety features which help protect the wearers, such as an Ultraviolet Protection Factor rating of 40+, offering maximum protection against the dangers of harmful UV rays and the certification to the hi visibility standard, EN ISO:20471.
COMBAT TROUSERS
The PULSAR Life Combat Trousers incorporate RUDOLF BIONIC-FINISH® ECO, fluorine-free, durable water repellent finish fabric protector.
Many engineering challenges human face can be solved by using natural design as a spring board. RUDOLF BIONIC-FINISH® ECO is Mother Nature's work reproduced on textiles and apparel to protect us from water. From Mother Nature Rudolf borrowed the idea of dendrimers, molecules made of multi-functional branches that interact among themselves, co-crystaliise, and self-organize into highly ordered, multi-component systems. They optimise the whole structure, attached to the textile and embed fluorine-free water repellent performance.
BIONIC-FINISH® ECO, based on proprietary dendrimer technology, comes as a family of unique non-halogenated, APEO-free, fluorine-free formulations and suited for different materials and designed for different applications and needs.
SOFTSHELL JACKET
The PULSAR® Life Softshell Jackets, incorporates YKK® ECO NATULON® Mechanically recycled zips. NATULON® Mechanically Recycled are made from recycled materials such as PET bottles using Mechanical Recycling technologies. The yarn used in the tape of NATULON® Mechanically Recycled zipper is made from more than 99% post-consumer recycled material. YKK® ECO NATULON® Mechanically recycled zips are used throughout the Life collection.
